Ewloe Green Raise £1052!

Ewloe Green County Primary School, Flintshire, have recently raised £1052 through the Giveback Recycling Scheme.  Children and parents recycled more than 200 mobile phones to raise money for their school through the initiative in conjunction with CMR.

Lorna Sheridan, of Ewloe Green School says, “ At Ewloe Green we are an extremely eco-friendly school and recycle as much as possible.  We allowed the collection to run for 5 weeks and by the closing date had collected 224 phones which were promptly collected by Giveback.  Within a couple of days we were given the brilliant news that we had raised £1052.  This far exceeded our expectations and will be put to great use updating the ICT equipment within our school.  The whole process was simple, taking very little time and costing nothing, and we intend on running the scheme again around Christmas.”

The 224 mobile phones that Ewloe Green School collected were of all shapes and sizes, some working and some not.  These were collected by Corporate Mobile Recycling who paid for all of the working handsets and recycled all of the broken and obsolete models.  In total the school recycled over 56kg of potential electrical waste!
